6 Stories Of Interspecies Love to Warm Your Heart
Are you ready for the cuteness?
Love is a funny thing. It urges us to do things we'd never imagine possible. It is what make us open our hearts to another creature, and this trait doesn't belong to humans alone. Sometimes animals form unusual bonds that bend our understanding of the wild kingdom.
Though they have a natural predator-prey relationship in the wild, one mama cat bucked her stomach’s instinct and went with her heart’s, nursing three abandoned ducklings along with her own kittens.
After the death of its mother, a baby chimpanzee was taken home by a zoo worker to provide the baby with care. Once there, the worker’s dog (who had just given birth) promptly took the chimp as one of her own.
This baby macaque was in a deep depression after being abandoned by his mother. But upon meeting a white pigeon in a Chinese animal sanctuary, his spirits returned, and the two are inseparable.
In a now famous story coming out of Africa, Themba the elephant was orphaned as a baby, leaving him in the care of the Sanbona wildlife reserve. There, he met Albert the sheep. After a rocky start, the two became fast friends. They spent so much time together that staff at the reserve realized that Albert was beginning to act like an elephant.
When a falconer at a British animal preserve brought home Shrek, a baby owl, for her own protection, he probably didn't count on his puppy Torque becoming a father. But that’s just what happened. Now the duo roam the house and grounds as a pair. Apparently, they enjoy watching the BBC together.
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! It might seem like something out of Oz, but this is the normal state of affairs for Baloo (a bear), Leo (a lion) and Shere Khan (a tiger) living together in Noah’s Ark, a Georgia animal rescue facility. Raised together by drug dealers who abused them, the animals formed a little family. When workers tried to separate them, they acted out until they were reunited.

Ugly Duckling Celebs
#20 Taylor Swift
One word? Wow. Taylor Swift has admitted to being an ‘ugly duckling’ before she became famous, but she needs to realize that becoming a beautiful swan only comes with age (and makeup, which obviously does wonders!). It’s almost impossible to see the similarities between these two photographs, proving just how extreme the singer’s transformation truly has been.
The Transformation Of Miley Cyrus
#25 When Good Girls Bat Sh*t Crazy
There was once a budding pop princess with a star as bright as the future that laid ahead. But as tends to be the case with these girls, her star began to dim. Every young girl everywhere wanted to be like her and she was a role model for kids growing up. Oh how we miss this Miley. Will she ever return?
The 20 Cutest Jewish Women in Hollywood
#20 Sarah Silverman
Although Sarah Silverman has the looks of a Hollywood leading lady, she got where she was with pure talent. She is probably the funniest lady in show business! She was born to a Jewish New Hampshire family.
She got her start doing stand-up and bit roles in movies like Bullworth and There's Something About Mary and eventually went on to have her own Emmy-nominated show for 3 years and was most recently a voice in Wreck-It Ralph.

#20 Bette Davis' Waist
Forget her eyes. Bette Davis was much more concerned about the size of her waist. In the 1930s, the movie star insured her wastline for $28,000 in case it grew to proportions that kept her from making money on the set.
London's Burning: How a Skyscraper Melts Cars
London isn't famous for hot weather, but that may change soon, and not because of global warming: The design of a new skyscraper in the city is melting cars and setting buildings on fire.
"It's absolutely ruined," Martin Lindsay told the BBC, referring to his Jaguar XJ. Lindsay had the misfortune of parking his luxury car across the street from the office building for an hour; the Jaguar now has melted panels, mirrors and other parts. "You can't believe something like this would happen. They've got to do something about it."
Local shopkeepers have complained about carpets catching fire and smoldering front doors. A restaurant owner told London news site City A.M. that slate tiles on his doorstep had shattered in the heat. [Spooky! Top 10 Unexplained Phenomena]

The building - designed by internationally renowned architect Rafael Viñoly - is a dramatic edifice with curved exterior walls. Built at 20 Fenchurch Street in London's financial center, the 38-story skyscraper is known locally as "the Walkie-Talkie" for its unusual shape.
But that curvilinear shape is exactly what's causing the problem: The south-facing exterior wall is covered in reflective glass, and because it's concave, it focuses the sun's rays onto a small area, not unlike the way a magnifying glass directs sun beams onto a super hot pinpoint of light.
James Keaveney of the University of Durham's Atomic and Molecular Physics department told City A.M. that the inward curve of the wall is an inherent flaw in the building's design. "It's a concave shape, so it's going to have a focusing effect on the light that is reflected from it."
That same concave shape has been used in the design of solar power plants. A solar dish in New Mexico contains 82 mirrors that focus sunlight onto an engine that contains hydrogen. As the gas expands and contracts from heating and cooling, that motion drives pistons that power a generator that creates electricity.
"There's [also] a power station in Spain that works on this principle," Keaveney said. "They have an array of mirrors that focuses light into a central pillar - if it's 60 degrees Celsius [140 degrees Fahrenheit], you could get solar panels and get some energy out of it."
This isn't the first time Viñoly's architecture has raised eyebrows as well as temperatures: He Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas has been criticized for directing sun beams onto the swimming pool deck that are hot enough to melt plastic and singe people's hair. The hotspot became known as the "Vdara death ray."
The Vdara mitigated the "death ray" with larger sun umbrellas, but fixing the problem in London might take a lot more work. "There are examples in the past where an architect has had to rebuild the façade," Philip Oldfield, an expert in tall buildings at the University of Nottingham's Department of Architecture, told City A.M. "If this is serious, then I dread to think how expensive it will be."

The 9 Most Daring Sports Of The World
As you may have gathered from the topic, we are dropping our monotonous routine of top 10 to bring a top 9 article to you. Today we will talk about 9 sports which are more than just daring, they are plain wild! Forget Pandora, this is the real mayhem here, treat yourself with the Earth’s most dangerous and full of life threatening places existing naturally.
9. Mount Huashan
Kicking off with Mount Huashan situated in Shaanxi province, China. The mountain is also known by its more famous name; Mountain of Death. The Mount rises about 6,800 ft into the sky and provides with unimaginable sheer drops and crags. Climbing the mountain is impossible but thanks to a ‘trail system’ that was built at the start of 1800s it has been made possible. However, be warned, the trail is one terrifying trail. The boards in place are about two feet wide and circle the mountain, at times their gradient being negative (downward slope). The place is a nightmare but you can always find climbers working their way to the top, clinging to dear life on their way!
8. The Prophet
This is the place you go if you’re interested in gambling with your life! The ‘Shinigami’ (Japanese for God of death) hover this cliff with a happy face for the cliff can tell you without error what your fate is going to be if you’re an amateur when it comes to climbing. The cliff rises in a straight line for more than 550 meters from the canyons down below. Climbers usually make use of clamps to climb this perfectly smooth cliff which requires a certain level of expertise to be conquered. Some even climbs it without rope since the slippage of clamps with the rope method can be fatal, talk about playing with your life!
7. Phantom Cave & Peacock Springs
Had enough with the climbing of cliffs and falling to death? Here’s another scenario; how about sinking below the surface? Yes, this particular sport is gaining quite a bit of popularity. This one requires a combination of scuba diving and spelunking. One swims through a series of tunnels and caves about hundreds of meters underground. The path has been mapped up to 1,300 feet and the rest is yet unexplored. Down the path, it turns into a test of just how flexible you are; narrowing down to only 2 ft. One needs to be free of fear of the dark, fear of drowning before they take up this sport.
6. Bike Path of Moher
At number six, we have Ireland and a dangerous bike path, perhaps the most dangerous that there is. The cliffs of Moher are more than just made up of old sandstone. They are deadly! There is a ledge which is quite narrow and runs a length of about 180 meters. The path is dangerous even if you’re planning to walk on it but God helps those crazy mountain cyclists who come here to play with death and the dangers here. Oh and that path, at times narrows down to only 4 inches!
